Description
When RDB backup retention is shorter than the required recovery window, a needed backup may be gone by the time a problem is discovered. backup_retention_period = 0 disables automatic backups.
Potential impact
It may be impossible to restore the state before data corruption or an operational mistake.
Remediation
Set backup_retention_period explicitly according to recovery policy. Where at least seven days are required, retain backups for seven days or longer and verify backup success and restoration.
